This is where my family and I spent our vaction this year (February 2010) and we walked away from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort with great memories. We have spent other vacations at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort twice and the All Star Movies Resort but Caribbean Beach has been our favorite so far. I walked around the resort and filmed as much as I could (including our room) so it would give others a good idea of what this resort has to offer. We stayed in the Jamaica section of Caribbean Beach so it wasn’t to far to walk to the food court and big pools. They do have a bus that only travels in the resort at the regular bus stops so that makes it a bit easier for you to get places inside the resort. I would highly recommend staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort and we may even get back there ourselves in the future. Question: Any unique, modern, stylish resorts in the USVI or Puerto Rico for a young couple on a budget?
Looking for an elegant but hip place for a wedding that isn’t an “all-inclusive mega-resort” and doesn’t have the typical, “Caribbean beach resort” feel. Not like this:

Check out Providenciales in Turks and Caicos. Beautiful on Grace Bay Beach. Most hotels there are like condos.

Question: Are these “Ramada Plaza Resorts” travel documents for real? Has anyone used them?
Hey,
I just got something in the mail today and wondered if it is real. It was from “Ramada Plaza Resorts” and is like a travel confirmation thingy. It says that I can use this “$ 1600 travel voucher” to purchase my vacation package for a “Spectacular Florida/Tropical Caribbean Cruise”. In return, I am supposed to fill out a one-page survey evaluating my vacation.
Has anyone else ever gotten these and used them? I used to get them all the time in the mail, but never really looked at them. This time I read it and really wonder what the catch is.
Any information you could give me would be great. Especially if you have specifically had experience with this company and their promotions.

We went on an RPR trip in 2002, which ended up consisting of three nights in Pompano Beach, FL, a two-day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, another day in Pompano Beach, FL, and two nights in Orlando, FL.
If you do some internet searching, you’ll most likely turn up nothing but bad things about RPR. However, that wasn’t quite our experience. In fact, we had a relatively good time, as did most of the other people as far as we could tell, and it was certainly worth the cheap price of the trip. Some notes:
1) Some people weren’t big fans of the hectic nature of the trip (i.e. spending a few days in Pompano, followed by a short cruise, followed by only a single night in Pompano and then a drive up to Orlando for a couple days). However, given that we drove down from Maryland, it wasn’t a big problem for us to do all this (i.e. we didn’t have to worry about flight schedules, etc), and it was actually pretty enjoyable.
2) The cruise ship was much smaller than any cruise ship you’d normally take a cruise on. It being our first cruise, it wasn’t a big deal, but others who had been on cruises before had some complaints about that.
3) Expect to go to a mandatory timeshare presentation, or something similar. However, approached the right way, this doesn’t have to be too bad of a negative. In fact, ironically enough, the more negative your attitude, the most positive an experience it will probably turn out to be .
